For over four decades, the Albert Einstein Residence Center provided a welcoming home for a diverse community of low-income older adults and adults with disabilities. In March 2024, the organization transferred ownership of the facility to a new company, which undertook renovations while maintaining it as HUD-subsidized housing for older adults.

Distributions from the proceeds of the sale will be used for grants to local nonprofit organizations that serve low-income older adults and adults with disabilities. The board of directors is committed to ensuring the funds make a meaningful impact in Sacramento.

EJCS is a nonprofit public benefit corporation, organized and operated exclusively for the promotion of the welfare of the elderly, disabled, and other disadvantaged populations through the offering of various support services and programs, with a primary purpose of providing low-income seniors and adults with disabilities with housing programs or services.
